I love the ease of changing the wide variety of presser feet available for my Singer sewing machine. The slant shank adapter is standard with all the later models. For earlier models, you can purchase one online and have the same ease of presser foot changing.

This video tutorial will have you changing your presser feet like a pro in no time. Whether the foot is screw-on or snap-on, you’ll know how to change it after watching this video.

And if you don’t have a slant shank adapter yet, find one for sale on http://www.sewsing.com/feet.php .

THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!!!! My fingers are bare to the obone form trying to force my various presser feet into place over the years. (I’ve lost my instruction booklet a long time ago!) and I’m sooo happy that I have found your tutorial! Thank you so much for taking the time an effort into putting it together!!! Thank you so much again!!

    You are very welcome!
Now, I’ll admit that I had been pushing my presser feet up and worrying about poking the needle through my finger before making these tutorials. For a script, I decided to use …. drum roll please … my Singer machine manual! Tah-dah! I discovered just how wonderfully easy it is to change presser feet with the slant shank adapter, by pushing the front toe *UP* and pressing the whole arm down on the new foot to click on.

    Happy Sewing!

Hi do you know anything about the universal shank such as shown here: http://crafts-sewing.hsn.com/singer-home-decor-presser-feet-4-pack_p-2165882_xp.aspx
I would like to get a cording foot, but it doesn’t work with my Singer 57825. I haven’t called a singer service center yet. Thanks for the great blog!

    Hi Renata,
I don’t know anything about that universal shank. I’ve been thinking about getting the gathering foot, myself. I have someone else’s video tagged in my favorite on my YouTube (user/sewmarm)channel using the gathering foot. I didn’t pay attention to see if it was attached with a universal shank or the slant shank.
